Charcoal Soap

1. Wash your hands

The first thing you should do is wash your hands prior to applying any cleanser, serum, moisturizer, or cream to your face and body. Clean hands ensures that any germs, bacteria, and/or oils do not transfer from your hands to the areas you want to treat.

2. Exfoliate your skin

Exfoliating your skin can improve its appearance in several ways, which is why it’s commonly recommended as part of any cleaning regimen. The good news is Activated Charcoal soap naturally exfoliates your skin as it cleanses, which is fantastic, so this step can be skipped.

3. Prepare to Apply Soap to your Face and Body

For your face, pull your hair back, exposing your skin so you can wash all the way up to your hairline. We recommend using a hair-tie, headband, or even wetting your hair.

For your body, prepare a hot shower. This will open your pores and allow the Activated Charcoal soap to deeply penetrate and detoxify your skin. It is not recommended to prepare a bath because you’ll be soaking in the dirt, oil, and impurities from your body.

4. Locate a clean washcloth or facial towel

Using the Charcoal bar directly on your skin is the most common way to cleanse your face and body. However, while not required for optimal cleansing, using a clean washcloth to apply all-natural Activated Charcoal soap is also effective.

Just be sure your washcloth is clean and laundered after the previous use.

5. Wet your face and body

Wet your face or body with warm to hot water. As your skin starts to sweat, your pores will open, which better prepares your skin for deep cleansing.

6. Lather up the soap

Once your face is wet, go ahead and lather up the Charcoal soap in your hands. Using Charcoal soap with coconut oil ensures the best lather. Simply rotate the soap between your hands and build a sudsy lather.

For your body, with the soap in the palm of your hand, apply the soap directly to wet skin in a circular motion. This process will help the soap penetrate your pores and achieve great suds for washing.

7. Cleansing your face and body

Apply the soap to your face evenly in a circular motion, using your fingertips, gently work the soap into your pores. For even more effective cleansing, dip your fingers in hot water and continue the process. The additional hot water opens your pores and breaks up dirt and oil.

To cleanse your body, apply the bar directly to your skin, washing everywhere. A circular motion with gentle pressure works best.

8. How to remove Charcoal soap

Once you are done thoroughly washing and exfoliating your skin, rinse your body, and/or face with warm water. Then, pat dry with a clean towel.

9. How often should you use activated charcoal soap on your skin

While everybody has their own unique skin, using a light and gentle exfoliant such as Activated Charcoal soap can be used daily on all skin types. Many exfoliating products are effective at removing skin impurities, dead skin cells, and so forth. The downside is that chemical and mechanical exfoliants may also strip away useful nutrients from your skin if overused.

Activated charcoal is much more gentle, allowing for more frequent use on even the most sensitive skin types. It can even replace your everyday cleanser.

10. Use natural products

After using Activated Charcoal soap, natural cleansers, creams, serums, and moisturizers penetrate deeper, leaving your skin smooth, and soft.

Store on a well-draining soap tray or a lift, where air can circulate to keep the soap dry between uses.
